The Caribbean player Chris Gayle has decided to skip the sixth edition of Big Bash league as the opening batsman is keen to spend some time with his family. Despite not playing cricket for West Indies for a few months now, Gayle was busy and was recovering from the injury which he suffered before the Florida games. So he was not able to spend time with his family. Gayle is planning to take some time off after fulfilling his commitments to give his time to newly born daughter.
Chris Gayle has not played for West indies for much time now as he was missing from the squad that toured U.A.E. He was not part of playing XI in Florida games as well.
But we cannot write off the fact that Gayle was in controversy during the same tournament last year when he passed some remarks on lady presenter. She was not amused by his remarks. Later, the committee took the notice of the incident and Gayle was fined for such remarks. He also issued an apology for her, which she accepted.
Currently, Gayle is playing Bangladesh premier league and has shown his colors in the first game itself as the opener thrashed 40 runs which included 4 sky towering sixes. He along with Tamim Iqbal shared a big partnership for the first wicket to register an emphatic win for Chittagong Vikings. Surely his fans will miss the Gayle Storm in the upcoming much awaited season of Big Bash League.
