Adelaide Strikers have signed the Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan for the upcoming BBL season. With this, he becomes the first Afghanistan player to get a deal with a Big Bash franchise.
Rashid has become a hot property in recent time due to his superlative show in the various T20 leagues around the world. He started his heydays with Indian Premier League, where the leggie pouched a total of 17 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He, along with Mohammad Nabi was also the first of Afghanistan players to sign a deal with an IPL franchise. Nabi was also part of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rashid Khan joins Adelaide Strikers for BBL 07
Rashid continued his show in the Carribean Premier League, where he was a part of Guyana Amazon Warriors. He grabbed limelight with a hat-trick and was the pick of the bowlers in the tournament.
His brilliant show in the previous two global T20 leagues have now seen him finding another buyer and now he also becomes the first Afghanistan player to sign a deal with a Big Bash Franchise.
The side consists of Ben Laughlin, Jake Lehmann, Australian pacers Peter Siddle and Billy Stanlake and Colin Ingram. Both Rashid and Ingram are the overseas signing for the franchise.

Adelaide Strikers will open its camping with their first game against Sydney Thunder at the home ground. Their next contest will be against Sydney Sixers after the Christmas break.
Adelaide Strikers are yet to win any season of Big Bash League. Their best performance came in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 season when they ended up as the semi-finalist team on both the occasions. The team will be looking to turn their fortunes in the upcoming season. They are yet to announce their captain for the upcoming season.
